Malaria

It is prevalent in Peru and Bolivia. There is no risk of infection over 2,000 m above sea level, and in big cities and during the day. The most sensitive area is the Amazon. In forested areas should take the following precautions:

Antimalarial Prophylaxis. The family doctor or a specialist in tropical diseases will prescribe appropriate medication for you.

Once fall night, you should cover your whole body with clothes (long sleeves, long pants) and use a mosquito repellent to cover your exposed parts of skin.

Preference should be sleeping under a mosquito net.
Once installed into the nets, you should spray insecticide on the inside and around the surface of it. The nets should be picked up between the base of the mattress and bed base or soil because otherwise mosquitoes will come. The nets should be wide but not so much that touches the body because mosquitoes bite from outside.
